Setting the Pace during Low Times

Looking around me I see churches cutting back on meetings and I wonder why. Of course the leaders may have good reason for doing so. Leadership does not cut back on meetings because there's a growing interest, that's for sure! which provokes me to ask the question, why is there no interest?. We can blame society, work, responsibilities and culture as much as we like, we can say that today's generation has other interests. but surely if we have what it takes, then folks will see it and join us! There are some things we should never compromise or quit doing like preaching for example. It may seem foolish to preach to half a dozen or less but God has chose n the foolishness of preaching to confound the wise. Preach we must, that's a first.

A Leadership Assessment.

1. Look art your own strengths and weaknesses, face them and admit them then ask what adjustments can I make.
2. Abort things you don't excel at and use other people as project leaders for things they are good at.
3. Find a gap in the market and start a trend, if other churches are cutting back on meetings, put more on
4. Do the one thing that's different and do it well
5. Know where God wants you first! then use your marketing skills to position you and promote your ministry
6. Reach a specific ethnic group. have different groups for different people
7. Build a multicultural church with multiple meetings with different leaders taking the lead.
8. Use your skills to reach a specific segment of people
9. Preach the gospel, never quit preaching. always have a pulpit.
10. Preach the truth. Make regular calls for salvation baptizing folks as they repent (Acts 2:38)
11. The church is the pillar and ground for truth. Don't compromise truth. find ways to improve how you say it or how you communicate it but always say it!
12. Always evaluate your ability to connect with your city! Find ways to improve
13. Set a trend don't follow the worlds. Don't be afraid to start something new
14.God can shake and awake your city the question is are you prepared to sacrifice enough to see that?
15.Is your preaching awakening your own soul first? If not it will not awake the souls of others around you.
16. Be faithful to your call.
