DEUTERONOMY 6:4 Hear, O Israel: The LLORD our God is one (echad) LORD:
Not one as "united one" not three in one or three persons as one. That's what religion has told us. Notice Lord and God are connected here. "Lord" and "God" are not two persons. Psalms tells us the Lord he is God. (Psalm 100:3) Lord being a human title and God representing deity. so we see the duality of natures not plurality of persons. In saying the Lord is God The Lord himself is revealing the God of both New and Old testament, as being one. Some versions give give Jehovah instead of LORD in capitals. Further proof of the oneness of God. Know that the LORD is God. (NIV) Know that the LORD himself is God (NASB) Realize that the LORD alone is God (GOD'S WORD TRANS). The ONE (Echad) Lord is the true and only God!
