Conformed, Deformed or Transformed?

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect. (Romans 12:2).

DON'T LET THE WORLD SQUEEZE YOU INTO ITS MOLD

A dear Sister gave her testimony. Its bad and we need to prepare ourselves she said. Its getting worse and worse and we need to prepare" Oh Dear. I thought. are we not a people of faith! The news is bleak, always is. No matter if we are in peace or war. Its bleak!. One reason that I did not listen to the news for one whole year. Why feed your mind on the devils garbage which adds nothing to my soul except misery! To be quite frank with you the Church is just as messed up as some "believers." I'm not sure if "believer" is the right word there, neither am I really sure about the accuracy and validity of our interpretation of the END. Well that's another subject. It seems that when it comes to END times we are the first to get into this negative doomsday way of thinking. People of the faith!OK enough! Let's look at Paul's exhortation here.

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect. (Romans 12:2).

CONFORMED "To be or act in accord with a set of standards, expectations, or specifications" (Dictionary)

be act in accord with a set of expectations or to expect what the world around you expects. To see it as they see it and act like they act as a result.

"Conformed " To be act in accord with a set of expectations or to expect what the world around you expects. To see it as they see it and act like they act as a result. "Conformed"  To act, often unquestioningly, in accordance with traditional customs or prevailing standards:" (FREE DICT). 

I don't know about you but I don't want to be a part of traditional and customary way of thinking on events that promote fear and retreat in the people of God. Even today's prophets will take what's said in the news then teach it as prophesy.It seems to me that the sicker the news is the more readily some preach it as prophecy. Its a case of hearing the world in conversation and since they are in the dark they talk as if there is no hope. Friend we are not the lost trying to find hope we are the found who have come out of the darkness. Our greatest day is not behind us its ahead!  

Every generation has its evils which try to get Gods people to engage, embrace and conform. FW Robertson once said "  "In the days of Noah the spirit of the world was violence. In Elijah's day it was idolatry. In the day of Christ it was power, concentrated and condensed in the government of Rome. In ours, perhaps, it is the love of money." To conform is to embrace and take on its spirit. the spirit of whoever shouts the loudest. To CONFORM is to believe as the world believes because it receives what the world readily receives. 

NAS: And do not be conformed to this world, KJV: be not conformed to this world: INT: And not fashion yourselves to the age. 

I don't want to be con-formed that is and excuse the play on the word here but "formed because of a con" Con- formed. I want to be formed by God and his word to me. Truth in the inward parts. If anything must shape me its truth.Truth will put me in shape, you too! Conforming to the worlds ideas will deform but believing God's will will transform. Don't take on is shape or let the worldly perspective shape your way of thinking which gives you a bleak outlook altogether. If we conform we will be confounded! Here's the solution. Preach Jesus and be TRANSFORMED by his word and the good news for everybody.
